We entered California and the Mojave National Preserve at Nipton Trading Post.

After a brief stop, we drove across the desert for a few miles, took a left, drove a few more miles, took a right, and then we started following the long desert road the brings to Kelso Railroad Depot, passing through Cima, literally just a name on the map, where a couple of roads intersect with the railroad tracks. Never I would have imagined to find in this remote location the picture-perfect stereotypical American railroad crossing!
