Day 11: Bryce Canyon National Park

Today I woke up really early at 4:30 AM and went by myself at Sunrise Point to take some pictures of the sunrise. It has been quite an interesting experience, almost religious-like. Even better was the drive afterwards all the way to the southern point of the park - Rainbow Point - stopping at many of  the various amazing view points that the park offers. Agua Canyon (in the picture above) was my favorite for the way the light bounces back and forth between the rocks and creates beautiful colors and an overall sense of glow.

After that I came back to the hotel bringing some breakfast to Yasuko, and then fell asleep until mid afternoon. We watched some TV, went out to do some shopping in the village and then finally , when the heat was bearable, we ventured out all the way to Rainbow Point one more time, stopping again at many other view points to enjoy the early evenings colors.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped at Bryce Point, which I had previously missed, and the panorama from there was simply stunning. The entire park at our feet, with miles and miles of red rock spires and horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters, and thousands of “hoodoos” with their mystical shapes. It was almost too much, to be honest, to take it all in.
